Points desuction is Not a bad idea.

I generally try to laser those in spawn and give them a chance to get set but I must admit there are times where people pop up and I kill them out of reaction.

If you run the Reborn Patch, this should work.

I'm not a huge believer in the patch myself, but I like the extra things you can do with the game while having the patch installed on your server. I'm going to add this to our test server actually and see how it runs - I'll let you know how it looks when I'm done :P

just find someone who knows scripting, I know you can kick for negative points via some admin tools so it shouldnt be a problem

except finding in scripters who still care..we banned creeper, I doubt he will care any more

Oh I know , You forget I was too as well , probably doing it before you was out of diapers. I dont like to code anymore and besides I really dont have the time to sit for hours  looking and testing .  ,,, and as far as creeper goes  that is a subject for another day .

Honestly though, the server has crashed 5+ times today... That patch will help.

I'd actually put money on the provider there. You guys are renting from a reseller of AOWC's servers if I remember correctly? Maybe not.. Either way, it's more than likely something on the providers end.



To answer your question though Shwammy, it can be done. That link I posted above doesn't actually work properly - I did ask Armageddon to see about getting it functioning, and he's pretty good :P
This script would work properly:

(Just edit it a little and you'd be good to go. Change addkills -1, to addkills -2 to remove a point from the person's score after they kill you)

Heaven was already trying to get the admins to consider this patch, Splatterguts.  I think you must have misinterpreted his post and owe him an apology to be honest but at the same time thank you for coming in and making the suggestion to implement the mod.  We do strive to do as much as we can to protect our servers from "undesirables" and it is great when some of that work can be at least somewhat automated.  We do run custom mods with our spawn-protect and other things that don't always play nice with "stock" mods such as this one - i.e. it may need to be altered to play nice with our custom mods.  It does sound like a great idea and I'm sure our server-side gurus are already testing it for compatibility.

As far as the mods go, I know how scripting works. Some things just don't work with others.
The Reborn 1.12 patch is a total overhaul of the way that some parts of script are handled. Things are bound to not work. It's too buggy for now, that's why above I stated that I wasn't a huge believer in it yet.

I'm not clear on what you're calling a stock or custom mod lol. Anything extra is custom, yeah? anywhoo..

I was only answering Shwammy's question with that post. She asked if it could be done, and I posted that it can be done, providing that you are running the 1.12 patch on your server. I wasn't trying to get MFF to add the patch to their server in the lightest.
