Personally... I would like to vote for a Thread just for recipes... I KNOW we have some GREAT cooks in here... and even some aspiring Chefs (a shout out for CA!!)

Anywho... here is one I am trying as we speak!!

Chip Chops

Ingredients:

4 Large Chops
1 cup Flour
1 Egg
1/2 cup milk
3 cups ridged potato chips, plain, crushed
spices to your taste (I will be using my faves here!)

Utensils:

3 containers for coating
wisk or fork
greased cookie sheet or baking pan


Wash chops.  Place flour and ground black pepper in one container.  Place milk and egg in another contain, wisk to combine.  Pour crushed chips into the last container, and add dill weed, parsely, pepper and garlic powder.  Mix to disperse spices and herbs.

Take one chop at a time, dredge heavily in the flour.  Then coat both sides of the chop with the egg wash, shake off excess.  Place into the chip mixture and coat both sides well.  Place onto the greased cookie sheet or baking pan.  Repeat with the 3 remaining chops.  Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes, depending on your oven.  Chops are done when the pork chops are 160 degrees internally and juices are running clear.  Remove from the oven and allow to rest for 5-10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute. Enjoy!!

SUPER yummy with creamed corn, mashed potatos, garlic-pepper green beans, baked sweet potato or rice.  Some hardcore southerners might even suggest applesauce!

*For more chops, use more ingredients. :)

Jason is a chef and would probably be the best source of info here.  But here's mine. 

Put (2) Ballpark All-Beef hotdogs in a microwave for 1:30, add buns (on top) when MW is at 20 sec left.  Combine.  Add 1/2 slice American cheese, mustard, ketchup and onion to taste.  Serve with chips.  If you are feeling funky, heat some Van Camps chili (no beans) and apply to the top of the hot dogs.  Serves 1.

Poppyseed Chicken

Cooking and Prep time about 25 minutes.

Ingredients:

1lb of chicken.
16 oz of Rotini Pasta
16 oz Poppyseed Dressing.
Peppers optional


Utensils:
Mixing spoon (Wooden or Plastic)
Pot to boil pasta
Strainer to strain pasta
Serving Bowl or mixing bowl to store
 

   Grill chicken until done. Cut the chicken into strips or cut into cubes. I personally find it easier to put them in strips before grilling. Cubing seems to work better after it is grilled. Boil pasta until done. If your not sure when it is done, pull a piece out and throw it against the wall. If it sticks...it's done. Strain the pasta. Mix the chicken and the pasta. Add the poppyseed dressing. I put in about 8 oz and mix. I then add the other 8 oz and finish mixing.

   If you like peppers, then I recommend you grill them along with your chicken. Not mixed, but more beside the chicken. I normally slice up a stoplight pack of peppers, which is one Green Bell Pepper, one Yellow Bell Pepper, and on Red Bell Pepper. I cut them into strips, then cut the strips in half. You can dice them any way you wish, that's just what I do. I mix the peppers with the pasta and chicken before I even add the poppyseed dressing.

     You can eat it right away, but my family has discovered that it is way better as a cold dish. I actually cook it when I am cooking breakfast. I then put it into the refrigerator until supper. You can add side dishes to it, but we never do. It serves 10. It's so good to my family that we normally eat it twice. It kinda works out since there are 5 of us. It will be our lunch and then our supper. The kids like it so much that they are the reason we eat it twice in one day lol.

HERE IS tonight's dinner

need:  Italian sausage  buns, spaghetti sauce. mozzarella cheese.

grill the sausage put in bun top with sauce and cheese then bake at 400 for 20 minutes .... easy quick and very good

OK I have posted this before...and you have all heard me say "I am going to make some Monkeybread for Coty!"...so here it is:

MONKEY BREAD

2 loaves Rhodes Sweet Bread Dough (thawed)...usually found in the frozen foods dept.!
1/4 cup pecans (I use whole, pieces work just as well)
1/2 cup melted butter
1 TBS vanilla
3/4 cup plus 3 TBS light brown sugar
3/4 cup regular sugar
1 TBS cinnamon

Prepare a Bundt pan with cooking spray (I use butter flavored).
Arrange pecans in the bottom on the pan.
Sprinkle 3 TBS of brown sugar over the pecans
In a deep mixing bowl, combine both sugars & cinnamon & mix well.
Melt butter and mix with vanilla.
Cut loaves in half and then into eighths (Each loaf should have 16 slices)
Roll each slice into a ball and dip in butter mixture. Toss them into the sugar mixture to coat and layer on top of the pecan mixture in the pan. Continue the process until all the slices/balls are coated and in the pan. Cover with a dish towel and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size(you can set your oven to 170 and let it preheat and then turn it off, put bread in and let rise for about 45min to 1 hour). Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven and invert onto serving platter. Allow the bread to rest about 3-5 minutes before removing the Bundt pan. Serve warm.

You can prepare this the night before. Follow the directions and cover with wax paper. It will continue to rise in the refrigerator overnight. After you take it out of the refrigerator, let it come to room temperature. Then just follow the baking directions.

Frozen Pizza

Yay.

Ingredients

Frozen Pizza (Can be picked up at local grocery store.)

Directions

Preheat Oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
Grease pan, and place pizza on it.
When oven is preheated, put pizza in oven.
*THIS ONE'S IMPORTANT! CHECK PERIODICALLY TO MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT BURN PIZZA

Utensils/Materials Needed

A pan
Your hands, maybe a fork if it's too hot. ;)

Get on your bike. Travel to Trial or MaxValue supermarket. If you go to MaxValue, do it on a Tuesday or Wednesday for that is when they have big sales even though edamame will not be on sale. Find produce section. Pick up a bag of edamame which will cost around 400 yen. Return home. Boil water in pot. Place edamame in the water and add salt to taste. Boil edamame until somewhat soft. Drain. Cool. Eat. Do not eat the bean pods.

Is it fresh or frozen?  All I can find here is frozen, and I don't care for it too much... Texture is funky...

Fresh fresh fresh! Frozen would probably be like peas or something. I had fresh boiled peanuts today for the first time and they were kind of like a peanutty edamame. A friend of ours is a farmer here and grows peanuts. He just picked some yesterday and boiled them in their shells and salted them a little bit. The peanuts didn't really taste like a peanut, it was almost bitter. If you go to an Asian grocery store you might find edamame beans. Of course if I go to a grocery store period it's Asian lol.

My MOST favourite way to enjoy boiled peanuts is "Cajun" style.  Add Cayenne pepper and crushed red pepper flakes to the boil  YUMM-O!! (For old time's sake...)

I guess I will have to find one then, being the Asian food store.  I REALLY enjoy them as a snack or side dish...

haha, not all of us have teflon! =P


Get a pizza stone, they work wonders. Way better than a pan or just sitting it on the rack.

I have never heard of greasing a pan for frozen pizza and I have never heard of a Teflon pizza pan. You people are putting way too much effort into a frozen pizza. Besides, you don't even need anything to put the pizza on. Put it right on the rack. Pizza stones aren't worth their hassle. They're too breakable and they're a pain to wash if you do it according to their directions.
